Drakospita in Evia

Drakospita is a collection of 25 megalithic structures scattered across Styra in southern Evia. These structures are perched atop hills and mountains. These massive slabs of grey limestone were shaped into pyramid-like structures with dry-stone walls. Ceramics dating from the 8th century BC have been discovered. These historic structures are stunning and well worth visiting. Drakospita in Evia are situated in the mountains, which provides breathtaking views. It’s unclear what they were used for, but they could have been houses, shelters, lookouts, or sanctuaries. According to legend, dragons built these structures. Dragons appear to be humans in Greek myths and legends, but they are not. They have a large size and are extremely strong.
